At U.S. Bancorp, trust has always been the foundation of our relationship with customers. Because you trust us with your financial and personal information, we respect your privacy and take strong action to safeguard that information, including your online sessions. The U.S. Bancorp family of financial service providers pledges to protect your privacy online by adhering to the practices described below. View our overall privacy pledge.
Using Information to Help You
To help safeguard your information online, we'll need to collect or remember information about you from time to time. In order to complete a transaction, it's necessary to be a customer and to register on our site. During registration, we'll ask you to provide us with a Personal ID and Password. This ensures that when you transact online with us, it will always be safe and secure.
U.S. Bancorp websites use temporary session cookies to assist us in securing your online activities and enhance the performance of the site. In addition, we use persistent cookies to personalize your banking visit and to analyze visitor trends. For example, personalizing your visit allows you to see unique products and services developed especially for your state of residence. We also analyze our visitor trends to help us understand how our customers are using our website. This enables us to build a more user-friendly experience. While your browser may allow you to "reject" cookies, our website requires that you accept all cookies in order for the website features and security mechanisms to function fully.

Using Information to Help Us
Occasionally, you may encounter banner ads for U.S. Bancorp products and services on other Internet sites. We may use third party ad serving companies to distribute our ads on sites where we've paid to advertise. When you click on a U.S. Bancorp banner, it will take you to our site where the advertised product or service is found. Sometimes these ads contain small graphics or tags in them. These tags capture information such as IP address, browser type and pages being viewed when a user clicks on an ad so we can track the effectiveness of our advertising. These tags do not capture personal information about you. The vendors we use to distribute our ads are prohibited from using any information collected except to track advertising effectiveness.
Online Behavioral Advertising on External Websites
U.S. Bank contracts with advertising companies like Google, Yahoo and MSN to advertise our accounts and services on websites not affiliated with us. Some of these ads are online behavioral advertising and may contain cookies that allow monitoring of your response to our advertisements. Cookies placed by these companies do not collect personal information. We limit companies that place our ads from using information for any purpose other than to assist us in our advertising efforts.
- If you prefer that our advertising service providers not know which U.S. Bank website pages you have viewed, you may opt out at aboutads.info.
Please note that if you opt out, you may still receive online advertising from U.S. Bank. Opting out from a specific advertising provider means that the ads you do receive will not be based on your preferences or behavior.
In order for behavioral advertising opt-outs to work on your computer, your browser must be set to accept cookies. If you delete cookies, buy a new computer, access the sites from a different computer, log in under a different screen name or change Web browsers, you'll need to opt out again. If your browser has scripting disabled, you do not need to opt out, as online behavioral advertising technology does not work when scripting is disabled. Please check your browser's security settings to validate whether scripting is active or disabled.

Links to External Sites
At times, we may provide links to sites outside the control of U.S. Bank to alert you to products, information and services offered by third parties. Provided links are meant to supplement U.S. Bank products, services or information or provide other information we believe may be of interest to you. Although we will only provide links to sites we believe are reputable, we do not make any representations concerning the linked sites' contents or availability. Please note that linked sites may have different privacy and information security policies than U.S. Bank. You should review each site's privacy and information security policies carefully before you enter confidential information onto the site.

External Aggregation Sites
Please use caution when using external financial aggregation or consolidation services. Financial aggregation and consolidation services collect your personal information from a variety of sources on one site. For example, they could collect your checking and savings account balances at your bank, the value of your stocks and bonds in your brokerage account and your frequent flier mileage information from an airline. Financial aggregators do this by having you provide them with your identification information and password for each individual website, then use these passwords to access each account. You must provide your permission and information to allow these services to collect this data. Never provide your account information or password to a site that you do not recognize and fully trust.
You should know: you will be unable to contest the validity of any U.S. Bancorp transaction initiated by a consolidation site using access information you provide, whether or not you were aware of the specific transaction. You may revoke an aggregator's authority to access your account only by notifying us, in which case we may need to block your account until we issue new access codes.
